Detailed Route Description

CHINO GRINDER 2018

The Chino Grinder is an ultra-endurance cycling event involving four distances on one course: 115 miles, 62 miles, 44 miles, and 25 miles. The 115-mile course starts in Chino Valley, Arizona (at the Community Center Park | 1615 N Road 1 Rd E| Chino Valley, Arizona 86323) and progresses to the turnaround at Whitehorse Lake Campground. The 62-mile course, 44-mile course, and 25-mile course are all within Yavapai County. The 115-mile course travels into Coconino County.

 

115 Mile Course:

  • Start at Community Center Park | 1615 N Road 1 E| Chino Valley, Arizona 86323
  • Exit the park by going right on Perkinsville Road
  • Travel on Perkinsville Road through Yavapai County
  • Visit Beeline Bikes Railroad Aid Station located at mile-marker #23 for fluids and nutrition if needed
  • Visit Velozoom Transition Refill Station located at mile-marker #31 for fluids if needed
  • Continue on Perkinsville Road across the Yavapai County (mm #32)/Coconino County line (mm #162).
  • Visit Ironclad Bikes Summit Mountain Fluid Refill Station (outbound cyclists only) located at mile-marker #174 for fluids if needed
  • Right on FSR 110 toward Whitehorse Lake (flagger and police officer stationed here)
  • Continue on FSR 110 for approximately seven miles to FSR 109.
  • Turn left on FSR 109 and continue for approximately three miles to the Whitehorse Lake Campground.
  • Travel to the Group Campground by following the event sign arrows
  • Visit Absolute Bikes Whitehorse Lake Aid Station for fluids and nutrition if needed, located in the Group Campground Area.
  • Return to Chino Valley on the same route.

 

62 Mile Course:

  • Start at Community Center Park | 1615 N Road 1 Rd E| Chino Valley, Arizona 86323
  • Exit the park by going right on Perkinsville Road
  • Visit High Gear Bikes Wildcat Draw Refill Station located at mile-marker #18 for fluids if necessary
  • Visit Beeline Bikes Railroad Aid Station located at mile-marker #23 for fluids and nutrition if needed
  • Visit Velozoom Transition Refill & Turnaround located at mile-marker #31 for fluids if needed
  • Return to Chino Valley on the same route.

 

44 Mile Course:

  • Start at Community Center Park | 1615 N Road 1 Rd E| Chino Valley, Arizona 86323
  • Exit the park by going right on Perkinsville Road
  • Visit High Gear Bikes Wildcat Draw Refill Station located at mile-marker #18 for fluids if necessary
  • Visit Beeline Bikes Railroad Aid Station & Turnaround located at mile-marker #23 for fluids and nutrition if needed
  • Return to Chino Valley on the same route

 

         25 Mile Course:

  • Start at Community Center Park | 1615 N Road 1 Rd E| Chino Valley, Arizona 86323
  • Exit the park by going right on Perkinsville Road
  • Visit Global Bikes Munds Draw Aid and Turnaround located at between mile-marker 12 and 13 for fluids and nutrition if necessary
  • Return to Chino Valley on the same route.
